I'm sure you're wondering...
What is a Mortgage Associate?
To be honest, I didn't know what a Mortgage Associate was either until I had made the decision to become a Mortgage Broker!

In New Brunswick, you must become licensed as a Mortgage Associate and put in at least 24 months of experience in the preceding 36 months before applying to become a Mortgage Broker.
So what is the difference between a Mortgage Broker and a Mortgage Associate you ask?
Mortgage Associate
According to FCNB:

"A Mortgage Associate is an individual who brokers mortgages on behalf of a mortgage brokerage."
Mortgage Broker
Again quoting FCNB:

"A Mortgage Broker is an individual who brokers mortgages on behalf of a mortgage brokerage and has the education and experience necessary to supervise an associate."
